The research and development team at Next Pharmaceuticals follow a specific protocol when investigating a novel raw material or developing a new proprietary blend. First and foremost, a new offering must fit into a product category lacking innovative ingredients. From there, the exploration begins with an extensive worldwide literature search.
The team looks for the chemical compounds, active ingredients and methods of preparing each material. Pharmacological activity, bioavailability and toxicology are also assessed. The final step in the literature search is to evaluate published in vitro, animal and human trials.
Once a raw material has been deemed suitable, the team examines its commercial viability to ensure that the material is plentiful and that potential harvesting will not damage the environment. At this stage, an appropriate manufacturer is sourced and the material is produced in a quantity that can satisfy industry needs. Next Pharmaceuticals then begins its own trials starting with acute toxicology and moving on to human trials. This protocol can take years to complete so that we may offer the most safe and efficacious raw materials possible.
